NABU conservation areas
NABU Aachen's protected areas are important centers for the sustainable protection of species and habitat diversity in Aachen. They represent the diversity of near-natural habitats and historically evolved cultural habitats in our region. Agricultural habitats are maintained through extensive use in close cooperation with local farmers. The NABU conservation areas are managed by the Aachen nature conservation station. Volunteers are welcome to help maintain and develop the 20 hectares (e.g. replanting fruit trees, pruning pollarded trees). If you are interested, please contact:
naturschutzstation@nabu-aachen.de or info@nabu-aachen.de.
Entering the NABU protected areas is not permitted - even for NABU members.
We ask for your understanding because of the sensitive and vulnerable flora and fauna. We also urge you not to let your dogs run free on the adjacent paths, but to keep them on a lead at all times. We regularly offer excursions to the protected areas (see calendar).
