Our nature conservation station
Die NABU-Naturschutzstation Aachen The NABU Aachen Nature Conservation Station supports and supplements the work of voluntary and full-time nature conservation in the urban area of the district-free city of Aachen. Its supporting association is made up of nine representatives of NABU Aachen e. V. and the City of Aachen.
Tasks and goals of the NABU Nature Conservation Station Aachen:
Its tasks are in accordance with the funding guidelines for biological stations in NRW:
- Species and biotope protection
- Protected area management (Natura 2000 areas, nature reserves)
- Contractual nature conservation (advice and technical support)
- Nature and environment-related public relations and educational work
- Promotion of voluntary commitment
- Supporting the state of NRW in fulfilling EU reporting obligations
- Involvement in landscape planning and municipal land management
- Scientific surveys of data on flora and fauna
- Planning and implementation of practical nature conservation and landscape management measures
